Erin Rebecca Taylor

Erin Taylor, age 24
Marquette, Michigan

Erin Rebecca Taylor, age 24, of 1741 Wright Street, Marquette, Michigan, worked as a temporary secretary at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center in Marquette.

She was last seen by co-workers on August 11, 2000.

Erin's badly-decomposed body was found by a Marquette County Sheriff's deputy while he was investigating off-road-vehicle complaints on August 20, 2000.

Her body was located about 100 yards north of County Road 492, near the site of the Lewis Henry Morgan historical marker, about 1.5 miles east of M-35, in Marquette County's Negaunee Township.

A subsequent autopsy revealed Erin had been murdered. She was reportedly strangled in her home, before her body was dumped along CR 492, the ligature still in place around her neck.

She was identified using dental records.

Erin's death was investigated by a task force of officers, investigators, and specialists from several Marquette County-area law enforcement agencies.

To date, no suspect(s) have been arrested in her murder.
